These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website at alpenglowhosting.com and all related services, including Minecraft server hosting and our management panel (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and complete, and that you meet the minimum age requirement.
3. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- All activities that occur under your account.
- Providing a valid email address and verifying it before using server creation features.
- Notifying us immediately at support@alpenglowhosting.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
Each person may only maintain one account. Creating multiple accounts to abuse free tiers, promotions, or credits is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination of all associated accounts.
4. Credits & Payments
4.1 Credit System
The Service operates on a prepaid credit system. Credits are consumed based on the resources allocated to your servers (e.g. RAM) and the duration of active runtime. The exact credit consumption rates are displayed on our pricing page and within the management panel.
4.2 Purchasing Credits
Credits are purchased in predefined tiers via our payment processor, Stripe. All prices are listed in Euros (EUR) and include applicable taxes where required by law. Payment is processed securely by Stripe — we do not store your full payment card details.
4.3 Refunds
Purchased credits are generally non-refundable. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at support@alpenglowhosting.com within 14 days of the purchase. We will review each request on a case-by-case basis.
4.4 Credit Expiry & Depletion
When your credit balance reaches zero, all running servers are automatically stopped. No data is deleted immediately — your server configurations and worlds remain accessible. We reserve the right to delete inactive server data after 90 days of zero credit balance and no account activity.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Host, distribute, or facilitate any content that is illegal under Swiss or EU law.
- Distribute malware, viruses, or any other harmful software.
- Conduct denial-of-service attacks, network scanning, or exploit vulnerabilities of any system.
- Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam) or phishing attempts.
- Mine cryptocurrency or run computational workloads unrelated to game server hosting.
- Infringe on intellectual property rights of third parties.
- Impersonate other users, individuals, or organisations.
- Circumvent any rate limits, access controls, or security mechanisms.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice and without refund.
6. Server Content
You retain ownership of any content you upload, create, or generate on your servers (including world data, configurations, and plugins). We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your server content.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that server content — including mods, plugins, and any third-party software — complies with applicable laws and the respective licence terms. We are not responsible for user-generated content hosted on our infrastructure.
7. Service Availability
We strive to provide reliable and high-performance hosting. However, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service.
- Any specific uptime percentage.
- That the Service will meet your specific requirements.
Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance where possible. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
8. Data & Backups
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups of server data. We shall not be liable for any data loss arising from hardware failures, software errors, security incidents, or account termination.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Winistörfer Webdesign and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at support@alpenglowhosting.com. Remaining credits are non-refundable upon voluntary termination.
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in activity that harms the Service or other users. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases, and we may delete your server data after a reasonable grace period.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, branding, and software (excluding your server content), is the intellectual property of Winistörfer Webdesign. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
"Minecraft" is a trademark of Mojang Studios / Microsoft Corporation. Alpenglow Hosting is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Mojang Studios or Microsoft.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the website at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts at the registered seat of Winistörfer Webdesign in Deitingen, Switzerland.
The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. We are not obliged or willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
